Aquila Labs is a software and web development studio from Leighton Buzzard, “for brands that innovate”.
After building their client base through referral and reputation, Aquila Lab’s founder decided it was time for them to “look the part” and begin building a professional agency model around their services. Whilst they had the technical abilities to develop their website in-house, they were struggling to settle on the direction they wished to take the brand.
To begin our collaboration, we undertook a brand consultation. The workshop helped both parties gain a deeper understanding of the Aquila Labs brand, providing key insights into brand pillars such as positioning, tone, and language.
These findings were then compiled into a north-star document. This defining document ensured all key brand aspects were covered, ensuring all marketing touchpoints would be cohesive and the team were aligned on both communication and goals.
From this foundation, I created a design system (including, but not limited to, elements such as colour, illustrations, icons, and typography) which provided us all the tools to create both the web design and any further marketing collateral.
The project deliverables included the packaged design system, complete mobile and desktop mockups in Figma, and a detailed handover document accompanying the handover session which enabled seamless integration for their new brand assets.
